Head to Mansfield then venture beyond to Merrijig, Mt Buller, Mt Sterling and the Delatite River Valley. Or travel further afield to the Howqua River Valley and on to the tiny hamlets of Jamieson, Kevington and Woods Point. And that’s just a sample of the many places to explore.
Omaroo is your gateway to the high country. The area is home to Victoria's traditional mountain cattlemen who share a rich history of living and farming in the High Country. To truly experience their unique high country heritage you’ll have to visit one of the many local attractions such as Craigs Hut at Mt Serling (as featured in the film The Man from Snowy River), or Fry’s Hut and the Howqua Hills Historic Area set in the Howqua River valley.

Victoria’s high country provides perfect places for adventure and relaxation, year-round. In winter hit the Alpine areas at Mount Buller and Mt Stirling, and return in the warmer months for water sports in nearby Lake Eildon & Lake Nillahcootie, or pack the 4WD and head into the bush.
